Sir,

I have the honour to transmit statements of the

securities against note issues deposited by the Hongkong and

Shanghai Banking Corporation, The Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China and the Mercantile Bank of India Limited, and

the amount of the note issues against which they were held on the 30th September, 1915.

I shall be obliged if the Crow Agents could be requested to furnish this Government with their returns as soon as possible and in future to send quarterly detailed statements of the nature of the securities furnished by each Bank.
